Please ask your friends and family members (and especially the person responsible for taking you home) to remain in the surgery center waiting room during your procedure. If they must leave have them inform the personnel at the front desk.
Once you’ve been called back to the clinic area:
- Before surgery, you will change into a hospital gown and receive an ID bracelet to wear until you are discharged.
- Personal belongings will be secured until you are discharged.
- Your vital signs will be taken and a nurse will answer any questions you may have and sign any needed documents.
- Expectations of the day and home instructions will be discussed.
- An intravenous line will be placed by a nurse.
- A short time before your scheduled surgery time, you will meet with your anesthesiologist and discuss your anesthesia options.
